Hi folks, I'm Christina, 44 from NJ. I have been obese my entire life. 2013 I was given a second crack at life and I would like to live it as healthy as I possibly can. I had open heart surgery in July for an aortic valve replacement. Luckily I didn't have any blockages or any other cardiac issues. I was diagnosed in April with severe aortic stenosis, and was told it was congenital. So now I have a mechanical valve. When I was diagnosed I weighed 420lbs, had the surgery and through recovery I lost quite a bit and by November I weighed 346. Went back to work and the holidays came in the beginning of January I weighed in at 365 :( I'm back in the gym and back on program and feeling great! I have to say through out my obese life I still maintained a pretty decent level of activity. I'm an independent person, so my recovery was extra hard on me because I needed to rely on people for care. I'm looking forward to my second half of life to be healthy and active! Would love to talk to some of you out there in MFP land :)
