Ok or not ?
Being raised in Seattle and now live in southern Nevada...

Nutrition wise is it still the same ?

Better than no fish, but nutritionally nowhere near wild salmon. Also, probably not as good as most other fish. Salmon just isn't a good farming fish, due to its specific diet.

    I agree. Sadness.

Honestly, the whole purpose of farm raised fish is to help not deplete the fish population and maintain balance in numbers from supply and demand. Nutrition wise, the differences across the board are minimal.

Once you've had wild salmon, farmed salmon is just unbearable. I say just enjoy the wild when it is available and skip it otherwise.

Yep. I will wait until summer time.
I think I have the answer I was expecting.
    Thanks to all.

I always went wild when I ate fish. This comparison doesn't say anything about color, but farm raised salmon is pale pink, then color is added to make it look like wild salmon which is a deep, dark color. They're close, but if you have access to both, go with the wild. Since you're not near the water anymore, you might just have to take what you can get. Either way, it's not unhealthy. Just not AS healthy. Still better than other options, though.

Salmon farms are terrible for the environment. The Alaskan wild salmon fishery is sustainably managed and is a model for healthy, successful fisheries around the world. Support wild caught Alaskan salmon! It's even tastier knowing all the details. Look it up!

I would prefer wild salmon to stay where they are if we could improve farming practices in general. A few Companies like Domsea Farms or SweetSpring Salmon are using land based aquaculture that minimizes the effect on wild stock and have more of a micro climate to control all aspects, it's the future not only for farming practices but for wild stock as well.
