Paleo - Please

Hello everyone!

My name is Margaret. I am bordline diabetic. I lost 50 lbs 2 years ago doing the paleo/primal. However I gained 30 lbs of it back due to going back to old eating habits. I tried eating healthier, counting calories, salt in take, etc but nothing works for me. So I decided to do the Paleo. But it is hard to get this lifestyle going! I need help - advice.

How do you do the Paleo? How many carbs do you consume to lose weight? (I am really confused on the daily intake of carbs). Any success stories of the Paleo lifestyle?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

If you found you have problems sustaining the lifestyle, then the paleo diet may not work for you. You should eat within your calorie limit and focus on foods that keep you satiated and help you achieve your goals. Paleo often involves cutting out carbs, which can be calorie dense, so you can lose weight while on paleo without tracking. However, you can easily gain weight on paleo if you are eating more calories than you are burning throughout the day. Whatever eating habits you chose, I would still track your calories because a calorie deficit leads to weight loss.

I think you can easily incorporate moderate amounts of any food to lose. However, if you really would like to try paleo again, I'd search the groups since there are several dedicated to paleo eating. You will likely find more helpful advice about the diet and carb levels (although that varies greatly between people on the diet it seems) there.
