Help please!! So just linked up zip and it's showing that I have burnt 1863 calories. How? The calories eaten figure is correct but no idea where this calories burnt figure is from as I haven't taken 1 step with it yet. :-/

  • The fitbit doesn't just track your exercise calories, it tracks all the calories you burn all day and night with everything you do. The calories burned section is showing you your TDEE or total daily energy expenditure.

Ah ok. Thank u! So in that case do I still go with what MFP is telling me? Sorry, incredibly new to this Fitbit technology!

Once you get your fitbit working properly, I'd keep with MFP's recommendations for a week or so. Let some data accumulate on FB. Then look at your burn...Everyone I've talked to seems to be really happy letting fitbit calculate TDEE. Once you're sure you have a good number (an average of maybe a week) then you can change MFP to reflect those goals if they're different.

FitBit still assumes you're alive even if you're not wearing it.
