Need advice!!! Has anyone had AC joint issues and recovered? I have had nearly two weeks off swimming and physio has given me one exercise to do with a resistance band. Apparently it's called the robbery or hands up exercise - you start with hands crossed over then pull back and move arms into the hands up position as if being arrested. It seems to be giving me worse pain than had so far and wondering if he's making it worse??!!

I still have no idea what caused this as have never ever had shoulder issues. Only different exercise I did prior was one minute wall handstands but never felt any pain during or after those so ???

It's most likely hurting during the movement because it is still inflamed. Put ice on it for 20 minutes at a time, take advil, and lay off the exercises for a few days. Once the inflammation has subsided it shouldn't be as painful. I've had shoulder issues in the past and the Diesel Crew Shoulder Rehab protocol on youtube always helped speed up the healing and strengthen the joint. I still do most of these exercises several times a week just to help with stability. Here is the link:

    ^This.

I had an AC injury just last year. It put several things off my schedule for a couple of weeks, but regular icing and rest took care of it well enough.

And yeah-- those wall handstands could do it. I injured mine doing overhead press. I didn't feel it at the time, either-- but the next day the joint was inflamed.
