So, disgusting question...

Just curious, but if you eat and then throw up, do you still count the calories? Have you like absorbed them or whatever, or only some of them, or what? :P (Sorry, I know it's disgusting, but I stupidly exercised too hard yesterday and ended up losing my lunch. And now I'm curious. FOR SCIENCE.)

To be accurate, you'd need to weigh the vomit.0

As one of my heroes on Mythbusters says: the difference between science and screwing around is taking good notes.0 -
Presumably if you threw up soon after eating, you wouldn't count the calories. . . since food is absorbed in the small intestine and if you had something to throw up, the food hadn't made it there yet.
Ugh, I can't imagine exercising so hard I threw up. Doesn't seem like a good idea.0 -
I didn't have the morning sickness bad in my first trimester, but I did puke twice total. (I was constantly staving and constantly nauseous for my first tri).
I just deleted the items that I could taste coming back up from my log :-)0 -
General rule used by those suffering from bulimia is that if you don't throw up within 30 minutes count the calories. If it was longer than 30 minutes afterward then count them.
But take this with a grain of salt, I learned this tidbit from those suffering from an eating disorder0 -

I've read you only lose 10-30% of the calories consumed after vomiting.
I'd just log it anyway and then if you feel hungry later, just have an 'over' day. I think it's more important to feel better than to worry about calories when you're vomiting.0
