No Salt Diet

I'm having a thyroid scan done, and I was told I can't have any salt for 24 hours. I wasn't told about this before the appointment, so I'm dumbfounded as to what I should for meals and snacks for the next day. Does anyone have some recipes?

The doc said no dairy, leafy greens, soup, canned food, seasonings, or vitamins.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only things possible are fresh foods that you prepare yourself.

Raw nuts, fruits, veggies raw or sauteed in olive oil, onion and garlic (again, fresh)

Since it's just one day, here's a list of some foods that have little or no salt.

It seems like it should be easy to have fruit for a day, but I can only eat so much fruit before I'm totally done. This list has a nice variety you can make a special shopping list for the day you need to go without.

    Good luck!

No seasonings of any kind?? Hopefully vitamins means supplements.

Saute sliced carrots, onions, peas (frozen or fresh) and some cubed chicken in extra virgin olive oil Cook a spaghetti squash and remove the threads. Toss the squash and the veggie chicken mixture together.

Add garlic to the saute if that is not considered a seasoning.
