Hi! It's been a while since I have posted on here! I started the Atkins diet on Monday. I am wanting to lose 20 lbs by summer for a wedding I am in and all of my other "diets" have seemed to have me stuck in the same place, so I turned to low carbs! I weighed yesterday morning and I was down 4.5 lbs this morning! I know that is fluid, but enough to motivate me to keep going!!! I felt the need to crunch on something so I ate some pork rinds. Is it okay to eat pork rinds on induction? They have no carbs or sugar, so I would think so. I just didn't know if the sodium would have any impact on the scales . I am drinking 12 to 14 cups of water a day and I do aerobics for 30 - 45 minutes 6 nights a week. I would like to hear some success stories and how much you lost on induction and overall!!! I am 5'2" and started at 143. I have been struggling to get 20 lbs off since my last baby!!!
TIA~~~
TIA~~~

My mom and I are low carbers as well.
My mom started Medi Life. She does 500-700 cal/ >20 carbs/ <75g protein a day under doctor supervision. (I HIGHLY stress the doctor supervision because that is a scary amount of calories. She goes to a medical office 2x a week for tests and shots) She lost 150+ lbs in a year.
I started my own low carb diet based off of hers. Mine is 1000 cal/ >30 carbs/ >75g protein. I also exercise for about an hour 4x a week, burning around 800-1000 calories a week. In 5 months I have lost 45 lbs. I'm 5'0 and have gone from 190 to 145.
Sodium does retain water, which cause weight gain. That why diet sodas and pork rinds should be eaten in moderation. But water weight is easy to work off! (I'm not sure about induction period and whats allowed, sorry!) This is the only diet that has every worked for me. All the lean protein makes me feel full and full of energy. I actually struggle to reach my calories some days and end up eating something fatty like sausage or pepperonis for fear of "starvation mode." I have never been on a diet that I had to actually eat more. Love love love this diet.0 -
Thank you! I am getting about 1200 calories right now...but I am burning around 200 - 300 a day with exercise.0

I am going to start Atkins tomorrow morning. The kitchen is stocked with veggies and lean protein. I would like to keep in contact to support each other. I have lost weight eating low carb and no sugar but went through a stressful period and lost control. This time I want to see it more as a lifestyle and not a diet. When I lost weight, I felt healthy, never hungry, and was able to work through the cravings and seeing others eat sweets and foods I was avoiding. Then I allowed myself a treat and didn't see any bad results, then one treat a week, spiraled out of control to several treats a week (all high carb and sugar). By the way, I was not exercising when I lost the weight. This time I will be exercising, as I enjoy Chalene Extreme, Turbo Fire and started t25 last week. So I consider those my lesson learned.
Best wishes!0 -
I started low carb, lean protein, high fiber diet today. I'm really excited! I've been in a low call rut for a long time. I'm tired of feeling hungry all the time and worrying about eating every little thing!0
