Hi and welcome!
My biggest advise is to go slow & steady with your weight loss. drastic changes tend to be what causes people to give up more quickly. Start with just a small calorie deficit (before I started researching and doing trial & error I just set my MFP to lose 1/2 a pound a week) this will give you enough food that you dont feel like you're starving yourself while you make other adjustments to your diet & lifestyle.
I'm not sure how active you are currently but increasing your activity a little at a time, and dont be afraid to set big goals (my ultimate goal is to run a 1/2 marathon and when I started I could hardly run for more than a minute at a time!!)

Best advice I can give you is set your activity level to sedentary and log your excersise.....with that being said MAKE SURE you eat your excersise calories. I tried to eat 1200-1300 cals a day and did excersise and for 3 weeks straight with NO cheats I stayed the same..n fact one week I gained a pound. As soon as I started eating my excersise cals I lost ...mine gives me 1430 cals a day to lose 1 pound a week. BUT I walk everyday now and burn 300 calories from walking......(for my weight and height I burn 100 calories per mile) so as long as I walk 3 miles....I get to eat an extra 300 calories in food. so my 1430 turns into 1730 I can eat and still lose at a rate of 1 pound a week0
