why do i keep gaining weight?!

Unfortunately I took a long break from my fitness regime this past summer and have just started working out again in January...I haven't got into running again but I try to so a brisk walk for 1-1.5hrs about 5-6 days a week... I also eat around 1400 cals per day....

Why does the scale keep going up? I actually weigh out my food so I'm good with portions... And I've already had that time of the month. I wouldn't mind if my weight was staying the same but it actually keeps going up

Oh and I'm about 5'3 119-123 pounds:/

Since your metabolism literally will change through the month, you need a good month of valid data to discern something.
How long and how much weight are you talking about?

And yes, even walking can tell your body it needs to store more glucose for these long walks, compared to do nothing for a long time.
Glucose stores with water - weight gain. Needed important weight gain. LBM, increases metabolism slightly.

Also, you weight all foods, even pre-packaged? Or you trust the label "about 2 servings per package"?
You confirm the MFP database entry you are using? Many are bad.

So with so little to use, sure hope you used the recommended 1 lb loss weekly goal. Less to lose, the more of a fight it'll be trying to lose too fast.

You should be able to lose weight eating 1600 cals based on your exercise.
