I never get enough fiber b/c I don't eat enough veggies. So I started eating Fiber One cereal in the mornings on the weekends and oatmeal during the week On the days I eat Fiber One I end up over my fiber count! Is there such a thing as too much fiber?

The fiber count on here is way too low to begin with. It gave me 15 grams! :noway: That's nothing. I upped it manually to 25. It should be 25-30 for most people.

I know, I found that when I started here also...I just manually bumped mine up and I don't care if I go over...as long as your body can tolerated high fiber...I find when I eat more fiber, I am not as hungry (obviously, HA!!)

You will know when you are getting to much Fiber because your time in the bathroom will also go up! If you are not having major sprints to the restroom then your probably good!

Too much of anything is not necessarily the best for you..that said, a little too much fiber in your diet is not going to hurt you at all.
  • OK i thought it was low too, but how do you change it manually? I've just been messin about in Settings but can't find it :ohwell:

    Katy,

I am not certain you can change the fiber setting manually....

Here is a website that you can use to figure out what amount of fiber you really need though. Just fill out the information and click submit. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for that, I've just checked it and it recommends 20g per day whereas MFP set it at 14. Will try and aim for 20 then!

The powerbar website says 17 for me, so I'm about right on my Fiber One days. Yeah me!

You can manually change any of your dietary setting...for example if you want to be more restrictive on your carbs for example or increase your fiber in your case....just go under the "my home" tab....go to "goals"....then go to change goals.....and pick the second choice where it says to "custom" your own.....then you can change whatever you like...hope this helps......
