Global warming isn't a very viable argument considering the weather where I live.

Where I live we've been having record highs...upper 60s and into the 70s for most of January and dry...we're usually snowy and cold....it's our coldest month of the year usually and also when we get most of our annual precipitation.

Global warming has nothing to do with localized weather...it's global climate change. I don't want to get into whether or not it's man caused or natural...I happen to think it's a bit of both...but do just completely deny that the climate is changing around us is kinda weird. This is some pretty freaky stuff.

We're supposed to be snow and cold this weekend...and then 70* on Monday and then normalizing to high 30s/low 40s by mid week until we once again hit 70* next Saturday in the 10day. Roller coaster...I've lived in NM for over 25 years and I've never seen a winter like this one....basically we had two weeks of winter in early November and then spring like weather from Thanksgiving through all of January...literally, good camping/fishing spring like weather. Now it's just day to day apparently...today will be winter and tomorrow will be spring.

Sam, you are a shark with wings. At least, that is how I see you. love it! Haha, I think that is the strangest compliment I have ever given someone.

Meanwhile in Canada we have been having winter weather this winter.

And you're sending it to us in MI. We were colder than Alaska almost the entire month of January. In January there were only 4 days that didn't snow. This is not a normal winter. It's sad when 20 degrees F feels warm and you walk outside without a coat on because you've gotten used to the -20 degree weather.

Where I live, we have been breaking records for cold and snow all winter. I don't mind because, well, it is Canada after all. But it would really be nice if we had one warmish day to get rid of all the icey sidewalks of all the lazy people who don't salt or shovel. That be nice.

Really don't mind the snow though, extra exercise and it is fun for me to do with the kids. :)
  • We often whine/complain about what we can't control. In the northern hemisphere, many will be *****ing about the heat within 5 or 6 months. What a waste of time and energy.

    http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus

"Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position."

But y'know, what do scientists know about science, right?
