I noticed pretty big improvements in strength like next week after starting to lift. As about muscle gains it took about two or three months.

In to see what others say. I started 2 weeks ago. Since I have a half marathon coming up I am only lifting 2 times a week, so I expect my results to be slower than those who lift more frequently. After 2 weeks I feel stronger but I don't really notice any difference to how I look.

With in the first month I was gaining strength...

My first 2 months of strength training was all body weight...and I lost 4% BF, 13 inches and 8lbs.

Then I picked up weights in 10 weeks of that I had dropped another 3% bf, another 5.5 inches and another 5lbs

After 20 weeks of lifting actual weights following SL 5x5 another 4lbs gone another 1.5% bf gone and 2 inches..

I currently am 162lbs, have lost 8% bf and 18.5 inches and a net total of 16lbs gone (18 really gained some over the holidays) and this has taken me 7 months.

I love the changes I see in the mirror...my arms/shoulders are looking fabulous, my belly is getting better, back is definately imporving ...the biggest change is in my butt and legs...I love it.

What change do you mean: the scale, mirror, strength, stamina?
change in strength will be very quick, scale may go up a bit at first (water retention), mirror at least a few weeks, stamina could increase pretty quickly
