Hey everyone! I am starting Debbie Siebers' "Slim in 6" program on Monday. I think that starting a group could be a great way to check in, motivate and help hold eachother accountable along the way. Does anyone want to join me?

    Hi There,
I hear that the program really works and am looking to start something today - just back from vaca and time to get serious. I mught be interested in this one - a student of mine gave me the entire series (she didn't care for it)
Have you done this one and what are your expectations?

Hi Dragonfly! Today was my first time doing the Slim in 6 program and I really enjoyed it  . I started with the first DVD (Start It Up) and thought it was a pretty decent workout. I'm sure I'll be feeling it tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the workout as much I do. Let me know what you think.

I will totally join in a few weeks! I am just finishing up EA Sports 6 week challenge. I was going to do P90X but the manual scared me into starting a little slower ;) So I will try this first and work my way up. I think I plan to start the 27th (after my birthday).

Good Luck and I will check in anyway to see how you are doing.

I'm doing Si6 now. I have only been doing it a week so would love to join this thread. I had a lot of success with it the last time I did it.

I'm loving this workout! My mid-section was pretty sore today.....but I pushed right through day 2. No matter how sore I am tomorrow...I'm gonna kill it!

Despite my cold-- I pp with Ramp it Up and I am glad I did.

I was also sore until about day 3 or 4-- then it went away.

If we keep this up we will be so happy. I used this program to get ready for my wedding. Now I gained it all back and then some.

Every day get's easier with Start it Up! My strength and endurance both seem to be getting better with each session. I'm really enjoying the rush I get from the workout

hockey247: How long did you do Start it Up before you moved up to Ramp it Up?

I did SIU for 3 days and then I moved to RIU. I have been on RIU since. I am going to stick with RIU for a little while longer too

I may take today as my rest day-- my knees are feeling a little weak. I definitely didn't go to the gym today but that was more because I couldn't get out of work.

Hopefully I will do the workout tonight.
  • Hello! I would love to join in on this group! I've done slim in 6 awhile back and had some success, right now I've been doing the elliptical but I plan on starting slim in 6 on monday along w/ the elliptical!

    .
I wish all of us continued sucess on our journey

That sounds great!! It's funny that is exactly what I am doing the elliptical and slim in 6.

I have to say,. I did take yesterday off but was right back today doing Ramp it Up. I also weighed in and have lose 6.5 lbs since starting SI6 Yay!!

I did eat a few too many calories today :( Oh well, its the first time I went over my calories since I started. I am just going to make sure I do both Ramp it Up and the elliptical tomorrow.

    Howe is everyone doing????

P.S Does anyone know if we can subscribe to the thread and get posts when its updated. Most sites are like that but I don't see that option on here.

After 5 days of Slim in 6 - Start it Up, I'm a full pound down and feeling great!. Think I'm going to stick with this first level for another week before moving on to Ramp it Up.

hockey247 (6.5 pounds! AWESOME ) & adriancal, that's great you two are also getting in some cardio with your ellipticals. I've been using my treadmill in the mornings and doing my workout in the evenings. Have either of you been doing Slim and Limber or Slim & 6-Pack? I haven't checked them out yet, but I'm going to try and incorporate them into my Start it Up routine next week.

I don't think there is a way to get notifications on threads you've joined, but if you just check in your "My Topics" you should be able to tell if anyone has posted since your last post.

Thanks gutterball-- this thread is easy to keep up with but I joined this 14 week Christmas challenge and its impossible to keep up with.

K- so I just got home and was trying to figure out what my caloric intake was and I am pleased that I have some calories left and I haven't done Ramp it Up yet. I have to motivate myself yo go down there and PP-- I am getting tired- duh, just looked at the clock and its 8:25PM.

gutterball-- I haven't checked out either one of those videos this time around. I did the last time and they are both good. I think I just feel like I am getting what I need from RIU. Thats also amazing that you have lost some weight and you are feeling great. Slim in 6 is such a great program. I find my mind already wondering about what program is next-- sigh... I can be crazy like that. I mean REALLY I just on the end of week 2 lol

    K- going to PP.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Well, I tried out the Slim and Limber bonus workout and totally hated it. It was ssssoooo boring and did not challenge me at all. I'm just going to stick to my yoga and skip that crap all together. Maybe tomorrow I'll check out the bonus Ab workout....hopefully that one is better. Other than that, things are moving along quite smoothly with Slim in 6 - Start it Up! I'm already looking forward to RIU  Hope everyone is doing well.....

I just finished a 6 week challenge (wii) and looking to start slim in 6. I just downloaded it and not sure where to start. Can anyone tell me which one I start first and do I just do one workout a day? How often..etc. Any tips would be appreciated.

    TIA

There should be 3 different levels of workouts in Slim in 6 ( LV1.Start it Up! LV2.Ramp it Up! LV3. Burn it Up!). It is recommended that you spend 2 weeks per level and workout at least once a day (try to include 20-60 minutes of your choice of cardio as well). You will need a resistance band or hand weights and a mat if you're going to be working out on a hard surface. Start with phase 1..."Start it Up!"....and just move at your own pace. Hope you enjoy the workout as much as I do. Let us know what you think kickrz

Awesome! Thanks so much. Tomorrow is my birthday and Thursday is my big dinner out (SPLURGE) so I will totally need to get into something now that my challenge is done. I may start tomorrow just to get some exercise in before my big dinner..lol. If not then Friday for sure. I am looking forward to it :)

kickrz-- I hope you love Slim in 6! I do-- I have really gotten good results from it in the past.

What 6 week challenge are you doing on the Wii?? I am still looking to see what I will do next and that sounds really interesting!!

Well I needed to burn some calories today and I could not walk or Wii so I popped in the Slim in 6.

I have a HRM and about 8 minutes into start it up I realized that I had not started my HRM..lol. So I figured I would continue from there and then go back and do the 8 minutes I forgot but adding it up at the end. The second time around instead of doing just the 8 mins I did the whole thing again! So I did start it up twice my first day. I like it so far, I just hope that my body still does tomorrow.

I did 50 mins total and burned 312 calories :)

When you enter it in Exercise do you just put in aerobics? I added my own called Slim in 6 - Start it up but wasn't sure what everyone else did since it wasn't listed.

I hope to be a regular and will take my starting pics when I get home. Starting weight for today though is 142.2lbs.

Regarding the Wii - I just did the 6 week challenge for EA Sports Active more workouts and wanted to mix it up a little so if all goes well with Slim in 6 I may alternate betweent the 2.

Today I was pretty sore! I also have a bad ear infection that is driving me bonkers. I did finish day 2 though :)

So we just work out 6 days a week and do each disc for 2 weeks then? I have no idea how I will get all 6 days in but I am willing to try. I still haven't taken before pics so I hope to get them tomorrow.

I didn't take any "before pics".....guess I was too chicken :ohwell: But I did take my measurements and also weigh-in weekly.

I'm moving on to Ramp it Up! on Monday and expecting to be pretty sore afterward, considering there are still sections of Start I Up that I find difficult. I don't think I'll ever be able to complete 10 whole push-ups to save my life  . Sometimes I find it hard to get in a good workout every day too (especially after a long day at the office). Just do it as much as you can and push yourself harder every time you try.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend

Well I skipped Saturday because my ear was just too bad :( So I guess Saturday will be my rest day.

I completed today's SI6 and I also did EA Sports Active day 1 of a 30 challenge. I am not sure I will complete it but it is nice to have something else.

HATE!! Pushups...I try but never succeed.

What do you do in addition? I like it but find that it kills my arms/legs for a bit but doesn't really get my heart pumping, that is why I added the EA today. I am sure I will barely have time for it so adding yet another workout might be impossible. The kids have been sick so I have had some more home time and that means workout time ;)

I just completed ramp it up and holy crap did it KICK my BUTT!!

I am not sure I can keep it up but I did burn 281 calories..which I totally needed to do because I over ate a wee lot today :frown:

Day 1, 2 and 3 Start it up
Day 3 and 4 Ramp it up

I am going to try to stick with ramp it up and see how I do. I thought I was loving the resistance bands until after the first 8 she said "8 more" I have to admit I did curse her out loud a few times. I will take it back though when I am more toned.

Going to bed before the sore muscles hit!

    kickrz that's awesome!!

I am probably going to move to Burn it Up today if I don't chicken out. I haven't been doing to well the last few days because of female issues but I am getting ready to finish these 6 weeks up strong. I am on week 4 of 6 and this week has been pathetic. I weigh in tomorrow and I am sure my weight has stayed the same.

I really do wish I had a heart rate monitor so I can tell how many calories I am burning. Any recommendations?

Monday & Tuesday I skipped my workout because I had to work 2 hrs later than usual and was just waaay too tired :grumble: . No more excuses! It's time to get back on track.

kickrz: Way to stick with it! You'll be toned before you know it girl
hockey247: Good luck with your weigh-in. I just know you're gonna tear up BIU

Let's finish this month out strong ladies!

I gained weight this week and am so upset. I am hoping its just because I am retailing water or something. I wasn't perfect for two days and missed a few of working out but nothing to put on 1.5 lbs

I think I am really scared to start BIU-- I haven't been PP its like I have a mind block or something.

However in my defense I did have a migraine last night.

So today I will pick myself off and try to lose this added weight.

OK I did it!!! I did BIU last night and again this morning and now everything aches! However I did get over the block that was stopping me from working out.

I totally understand why I was scared of this workout!

Hope you guys are doing good!!!

    Hey 6-er's!

hockey247: Congrats on starting BIU! That's about how I felt after RIU. Who knew your armpits could hurt

kickrz: Are you still with us?

I am doing silm in 6 although once a week right now building up muscle... because I am so weak I got so sore trying to do it everyday and I have to walk around college 3-7 hours 5/days a week and it made it hard going up the stairs so starting out slow.. till I can get my muscle build up and not extremely sore

I am still moving right along with BIU. Wow-- its a tough one. However as I do it its getting easier.

txmomma-- I know its hard to believe but when you keep doing the workouts the soreness somehow goes away.

gutterball-- I know what you mean!! There were muscles in my back that were sore after BIU that I didn't know existed.

So I totally failed today on my AM workout. In fact I am positive neither one of my two alarms I have set went off--LOL I am upset since I feel I lose more weight working out first thing in the morning. However, I will be PP this evening and doing BIU once more.

I had also lost another .5 lbs but I seem to have put that back on so I didn't log it.
