New to MFP and questions about calories

Hello all! I have been dieting since 1/1/14, and am having a very slow weight loss (1 lb/wk). I have not started exercising, besides my 10 minute walk to and from work. I am on a 1200 calorie diet, but not sure if I am supposed to add calories if I start an exercise program. Any thoughts or suggestions? Any exercise routines that are easy on the knees (do not have access to swimming pool).

    1 pound per week is not very slow weight loss, it's not even slow weight loss, it's probably exactly where you want to be. You should strongly consider starting strength training immediately. That would be my suggestion.
