Just introducing myself! Pretty excited about finally getting back on a program. I used MFP briefly in the past but never really took it on. So, here are some stats I spose.
22 y/o Male
210 lbs
5' 9"
The most I ever weighed was 292 (in 2011) and I lost a fair amount of weight, which brought me down to 190 in March 2012. My goal weight is 180 at the moment. I am currently enlisted in the Army National Guard and graduated basic training at 176 lbs, so am looking to get back into that area. I am also currently applying for various police departments. I lost a ton of weight before, but for some reason I am just having trouble sticking to a plan so I figure maybe some camaraderie will help.
I am going to check out the mentor thread and see if I can hook up with someone to get things rolling. If anyone has input before I start that would be great. I have read a lot over the past couple of days, and here are the numbers I have found:
BMR: 1943 cal/day
TDEE: 2888 cal/day (Lightly Active) My current employment requires walking 3-4 hours a day, and some running.
TDEE -20% (Since I have 30 lbs to lose): 2310 cal/day
MFP Cal Goal: 1740 ca/day
I feel like the TDEE -20 number is quite high, and I think I will start with the MFP cal goal. (1750 seems generous, whether net or gross)
So let me know what you guys think, I appreciate it!
