Anyone know a GENTLE ab workout?

I'm in need of a super gentle ab workout! I've had surgery on my stomach 4 times where I was cut from my belly button down causing my ab muscles to totally separate...only surgery can fix it but in the mean time I want to try to at least attempt to tone my muscles again. Any suggestions?

to be honest, I would not do anything until it heals...0

Given that surgery was involved, I would be tempted to say you should speak with your doctor to get some safe recommended exercises that won't cause you any further problems. However if you've already spoken with your doc and s/he just said to take it easy, something like standing crunches or standing oblique twists might not be a bad option for you. I don't find them to be as harsh as the ab exercises done on your back. Anything involving balance utilizes your core muscles as well, so just things like standing on one leg and doing kicks or knee raises will force you to put your tummy and sides to work without it being too hardcore.0
