Insanity or something else?

Everyone always goes on about how amazing insanity is, but it's so expensive it's hard to justify! I assume you'd get roughly the same results from 2 months of 60 minutes intense exercise 6x a week (I already have gym membership and quite a few Jillian Michaels dvds) and a good diet...am I right to think this? Thanks

I'm thinking the same: ANY routine at that intensity and frequency, whilst advocating a balanced, protein driven diet WILL yield results! Insanity & co, just have brilliant marketing! Also good at pointing people with little idea in the right direction I suppose.
I too would be tempted by P90X, but the price is prohibitive.0 -
It all just comes down to what kind of workout you like and what you'll stick with. I originally didn't buy Insanity because of the price, but ended up trying it after a friend purchased the DVD's -- I was honestly surprised with how much I enjoyed the workouts and my personal improvements in strength and endurance. If I hadn't had a chance to try them out, I probably wouldn't have purchased them at all (I have since purchased my own set and completed the program twice) Do I think I could have gotten the same strength and fitness results through other means? Absolutely. But I like Shaun T's attitude, and I *need* someone telling me what to do and when to do it because I know I'm too lazy on my own to really push my limits as much as I should.
My enthusiasm for Insanity (and I haven't tried any of the more recent programs, just the original) comes from the fact that it works (for me!) and it is enjoyable (to me!). Everyone is different -- I don't rave about Jillian Michaels because I simply don't like her workouts, but that's not to say I wouldn't improve my overall fitness if I actually got myself to do them regularly.
Find what works for you -- there is no magic bullet that works for everyone. :flowerforyou:0
