I started running last week and have so far only had 1 rest day out of 7, I was thinking of doing one day run, the next jump-rope, day after run etc to try and balance out my work outs..
Do you guys recommend rest days and if so how do you work them into your regime? Thanks

Listen to your body. Usually for weights, do every 2 days or so... gives your muscles time to relax a bit... I generally do cardio every day and feel fine.0

Sounds good to me. I take 2 rest days a week but I do weight training 3-4 times a week and cardio 3 times a week.0

I rest on sundays and just do P90x stretch that day.0

Thanks guys,
By a rest day I meant predominantly from running..as I'm still going to do the jump-rope to make sure I'm doing SOMETHING!
Will give today a bit of thought re:running see how I feel later xx0 -
Depending on the intestity of your running, I would suggest limiting the jump-rope on the other days. Both running and jump rope are fairly high impact, and you may not be giving your body enough rest. If you are going to crosstrain, I would recommend riding a bike, the eliptical, hitting the pool, or maybe some kind of resistance training.
As an aside, I am a certified running coach, so if you have any questions feel free to message me.0
