Ibs in america

I have been having stomach problems since October. I have a history of acid reflux and a hiatal hernia. So when my stomach started really hurting (like some punching me continuously) between the ribs I called the dr. They double my nexium.
In December I ended up in the emergency room it was so bad. So they added yet another anti acid. After complaining som more they also put me on bentyl. Which is an antispasmodic. Not one time did anyone say change ur diet.
After a few days and no improvement I went to my primary who took me off of everything except my nexium. Placed me on topamax. Said he thinks I have ibs. First I heard these words.
Then a week and a half ago I had a major attack. Now I find I can't eat dairy, rice, wheat, etc. but not one time has a dr said change ur diet.
I started bentyl to try and get some relief. But it has corn starch in it. Don't figure.
Can some one give me a suggestion to calm my stomach back down.
Help!!!!

What does this have to do with "lbs in america"?
Anyway, you really are going to have to keep working with a doctor, any advice you get on here is going to be based on opinions not medical facts.0 -
I also thought it was Lbs in america, but I think it is actually eye-bs in america, as the post mentions irritable bowel syndrome.
I have never been diagnosed with IBS, but in my own opinion, my digestive system is a cranky old man. I think the main key is finding foods that trigger bad reactions. Keep a log of foods you eat and how you feel and over time you may be able to figure out what foods are causing it.
Cut suspect foods out, see what happens. Add them back in, see what happens.
As the previous poster said though, a doctor may be able to give better advice.0 -
You might benefit from trying an elimination diet where you cut loads out then add things back in gradually. Can you see a nutritionist to discuss a proper plan?0

Okay, makes sense... I guess I can't think too well before 8:00 AM!!! LOL
OP
If your doctor isn't telling you what dietary changes to make, ask him. If he still doesn't tell you, find a new doctor.0
