Looking for positive reinforcements!

Hey everyone. After four months of enthusiasm, I have had a very rough last few days and am looking for some positivity and optimism to pull me back into the groove! I thought I was just having a bad day, then when that stretched into four days with all kind of negative thoughts about giving up and futility and all that, I decided I needed to reach out for some support. So far, I haven't strayed too far from my routine, but my brain is encouraging me to just quit and join my husband in the perpetual LazyBoy, watching TV. I've been so full of optimism since October that I am dumbfounded as to how this happened to me after all this time, but I'm having a hard time seeing the positive future path again. I thought by now I'd have a new brain habit made but it seems I am going to have high relapse potential for a long time and I can't seem to pull myself out of my funk. Any help would be appreciated, and feel free to add me if you want - I promise, I'm not normally this low!

It would be SO nice if they could insert a chip in us that would keep us upbeat and motivated all the time. Hell, they have electric cars and people in space---why not? Until then know that there will be funky days young lady. I feel your pain. I have 2 jobs, a son with ADHD, a wife with PMR (its related to arthritis), and I lost my left leg in the line of duty as a paramedic when I was struck by a car, and I am 150 lbs over weight----as Joan Rivers would say CAN WE TALK?
I am no radical bible thumper but I do know that the good book says "this too shall pass" and I know it to be true. Allow yourself to have a few funky days, but remember to celebrate ALL your victories also, no matter how big or small----a pair of pants that are a little looser, an extra glance or smile or compliment about your appearance, even if you get on the scale and the needle didn't budge, at least you didn't go up. You find me one person who hasn't been in a funk a few times during their journey to better health and I'll squeeze my big ole butt in a ballerina suit and dance to swan lake in the middle of time square in ESPN. ITS ALL GOOD!!! :bigsmile:0 -
I have been the same the past week or two. In fact, I almost quit but dug deep and by the end of that week I hit my UGW. My lowest ever weight as an adult. Then this week I've just had a few personal problems to contend with but basically this s**t ain't easy! So i know where u are coming from. Cruising along one minute then the next it just seems all too hard and your determination seems to have left the building. Feel free to add me if u like x0

Thank you both for the replies and the positive energy! It was a rough few days but I think I am seeing the light again! At least for the moment! And I am going to consider it a huge triumph that I put my feelings out there in a public post, and that kept working on my routine even with the stupid feelings rolling around in my head. I may have shed a few tears at yoga last night but I didn't let it stop me. Here's to a good week for everyone!0

I find yoga really helps calm me down and I fear it's what I've been missing lately but haven't had the time on top of my usual routine. It does have an effect on you doesn't it!? I know i have shed my fair share of tears during yoga and body balance classes!0
