You can do it!!
i have been doing this for last 4 years lol but not this time...i have decided to stick to it 4 months already...and many years to go..(surely)0 -
People that start over and over again aren't committed to the goal. You can have a bad day or week, but people who are committed will reach goal.
So check to see if you're just "desiring" weight loss or are "committed" to it.

Everyone falls off the wagon from time to time. The thing is to not allow the one slip to turn into such a big mess that you do actually have to start all over again. For example, if you've already lost 50 pounds, there's no one slip that will make you gain it all back. It's repeatedly making the same bad choices that makes you gain it all back.
So... be realistic with your goals, realize that you don't have to give up eating everything you love (if anything at all), and that every slip is an individual choice and not a predetermining one. Going over by 100 calories in a day doesn't mean that you should say screw it and go over by 1000 because you've already 'messed up'.0 -
I am in agreement with PP... It might seem "mean" to say... But I agree because I recently had this revelation in myself... You will know when the time comes when you are truly committed to the change instead of just WANTING the change but not being truly in it. I hit a point where I was losing .5-.8 pounds a week... and then gained a couple back and I got SO frustrated and upset that I went on hiatus and blamed everything else I could because I "was doing everything right"... But when I really sat down and was honest with myself, I WASNT doing everything right. I wasn't really in it. From that point on, I have truly been in it. Sure, I give myself a "cheat day" when I need it... but other than that, I haven't missed a day of exercise, on my non-cheat days I stick to my diet and my fitness pal goals 100% and I have lost almost 5 pounds because of it. It is a completely different feeling to be committed, and KNOW you're committed, because once that moment hits, NOTHING can change or sway you. That candy bar you pass in the grocery store? Not even an issue. You'll get there! And if this is your moment, if you're truly sick of it and 100% ready to change your life, Go for it. Grab it by the balls and don't let it go. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! You can do this.0

There is no starting over! Just keep moving forward....it is a lifestyle change not a "diet" that you go on and off of. There will always be days of imperfection. The goal is to get back on track the following day. This week is tough for me bed\cause we are on day 5 of no water (and we just ran out of our bottled water) and the only heat is in the bedroom as we are out of wood (we heat solely with a wood stove). BUT what I know is..once the water is back on and it warms up I will be back on a better track! keep on truckin' :happy:0

I feel the same way, I'm so ready to get my life in order and enjoy my 20s while I can! No more sulking over being fat -- it's time to do something about it!0

So what did you learn? Everything is a learning experience - don't think of it as starting over think of it as a hard earned lesson and make the changes you need to make in order to drop the weight and be healthy. It's all about balance and in order for me to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle I need to maintain some discipline in the diet and exercise aspects. Good luck OP! You know what you have to do. :flowerforyou:0

in 2012 I lost 30 lbs, which was my goal but since Dec 2012 I have gained 35 lbs so I am worse than when I first started. It has me really down and I'm finding it real hard to get motivated but we can't give up. We are going to fall (we are only human) but we only fail if we quit trying. Hang in there sweetie.0
