Usually I do Yoga and I've got 2 4 year old sons that make that impossible on the weekends (husband works) but I want to work out. So this morning I had an idea that would benefit all of us.

Train like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

5 Push ups (10 for me)
5 Sit ups (10)
5 Jumping Jacks (10)
Run from point a to point b 5 times
Kick left
Kick right
Run 5 times
Punch left
Punch right
5 Jumping Jacks (10)
Run 5 more times
1 Really BIG jump

We all had fun, got us outside and they and I burned some energy.

  • That was a great idea! I think a lot of people overlook the idea of involving their kids in their exercise. Its not always possible to do but my son is 4 and does Insanity with me on the weekends :-) he's a beast lol
  • That's awesome!

I had a kid-workout breakthrough this weekend myself. She went hiking with me yesterday AND today! She whined a little, but mostly had fun. We also just bought a "tag along" bike to attach to one of our bikes. That is working well also. Prior to this, my workout was at O'dark thirty - running through the neighborhood before my husband woke up to go to work. That isn't a lot of fun.
