I have been eating for a long time under 1000 calories and then binging in days because of hunger...It is been a while since i started eating healthy although I had a set back...Now i am upping my calories starting with 1200 but I am really struggling with that I feel so full and bloated. Will I lose weight ? after my body got used to losing weight while eating only less than 1000 calories
(P.S my metabolic rate 2 months ago was only 1050 !! that is why I started eating so low)

you had you RM measured at 1050 ? That is low, if correct then you could burn about 1600 a day with a decent amount of activity so eating 1200 will allow you to lose weight.
You don't say anything about your current stats and goals, or what you eat.0 -
yes it was too low...exercise helps me boost that but I have an ankle injury so i am now not active because I can't move much that is why i kept lowering my calories.
i am 5'5 and 155 pounds...I am overweight according to my bmi.
because of injury i stopped eating much that is why I lost about 20 pounds but i stopped losing
so now I am trying the 5:2 diet and following their recommendation of crabs proteins and fasts so basically now I am eating everything but doubting i am gonna lose any0 -
How long were you eating at a very low calorie intake? Was your metabolic rate taken well into your weight loss or at the start?0

It was taken by an MD nutritionist and it is my a machine they use...yes my height was taken into consideration and it was before I starting eating low calories. I had to check my glands because of the low result I got but i didn't have anything.
I checked it twice actually one at an MD and one nutritionist and got the same results. I used to eat mainly at night a large meal that is why they recommended that i eat small meals thought the day0 -
Do you know the name of the machine?
Thanks in advance.

The first one i used is from Tanita brand ( i didn't like it much)
the other I used at the MD and it was called xbia900 (not 100% sure though about the brand but it is the same concept)0 -

Did they happen to mention if you had metabolic damage from eating 1 meal a day? There are programs that can help you with your metabolic rate. I've seen a lot of girls have to go through and it's worked for them but their issue was due to eating below 1,000 calories a day while dieting for an extendes period of time: however I'm not sure what their metabolic rate was before the damage was done and/or if the plan also works for someone starting out with such a low metabolic rate?0 -

Both have accuracy issues. They might be useful to chart changes over time if you maintain the same level of hydration when you test yourself.
BTW no such thing as "metabolic damage" from eating too few calories. The only damage you will do is to your adipose tissue. It will be screaming bloody murder!
I reapect your opinion but I think that would be your perspective on the issue and of course some dont believe in it but there is research and information about it if you would like to check it out and it's not all 'quackery'
OP for more information please look up Layne Norton, if it's something you would be interested in learning more
About. There is an argument about it but then again there is an argument about EVERYTHING that has to do with health and fitness, even an argument if you should lift before or after cardio. Always do research before considering something.0 -
thank you so much for all your opinions... i will try to research about those programs...yes my metabolic rate was reduced this low after a very strict low calorie diet0
