Healthy munching

I always feel the need to munch on something when I'm doing homework! I know it's not the best habit but whatever. Cereal is probably my favorite, or anything similar to that. Does anyone know of something I could snack on that would be a bit healthier? Preferably low carb. Yeah yeah I know fruits and vegetables blah. I really am looking for something I can eat basically constantly while I'm working that will curb the cereal cravings!

Hi,
It might not be what you are looking for, but I used to do the same thing, I swapped to plain pop corn and now either crunch icecubes (when it is warm) or chew gum. Also find I get through my work a bit quicker as I am not stopping to replenish snaks or put hand to mouth! Mind you, still better than the old old days where I would chain smoke!!! Good luck finding your answer :-)0 -
I hear a lot of people snacking on nuts a lot to replace chips and cereal. I don't personally since I can't stand nuts. I know you said no fruits, but have you tried the packages of dried fruit? I love snacking on those and they're pretty small and easy to munch on while you're on the go.0

homemade granola, baby carrots sliced red bell pepper w'hummus, or hot air popped corn. All else fails weigh your cereal before you sit down to munch and munch it slow w' a glass of water.0

Nuts, raisins
Weigh out your cereal if you want that and put it in a cup so it looks like more!
Fruit/veg sticks would be good too0 -
cottage cheese & peanut butter
quest bars if you can afford them
carrots and hummus
hard boiled eggs
a healthier cereal
mixed nuts
greek yogurt'
oatmeal
deli slices wrapped in some lettuce and salsa
whole grain crackers
pop corn
just portion the snack out before you do your homework:)0 -
Sunflower seeds in the shell. It takes forever to eat not very many because you have to shell each one.0

Snacking on nuts is a bit dangerous since they are so high in fat and calories (don't get me wrong, I LOVE fats in my diet). You need to be thinking about your food when you are eating it.
For mindless munching, try something a little more empty, like celery stalks.
I know it's boring...but It's better than torturing yourself. Save the treats for when you have time to enjoy them!0 -
I eat plain celery sometimes. Crackers and cheese/peanut butter (this might be trouble).
Vegetables are your best bet if you have an oral fixation0
