Hi my name is Joy I have just completed week 1 of Focus T25 Beta I love the programme and feel I have lost inches. I am also training for a half marathon so running 3 times a week as well. My diet is good I eat paleo style and doing a whole 30 at the moment. I usually lift weights too but stopped at the beginning of T25 as I didn't want to overdo it. I am really missing lifting and tonight my husband said I looked slimmer but looked like I had lost muscle definition in my shoulders particularly. This is the last thing I want to happen. I want muscle I am proud of muscle. Do you think it would be too much to add in some lifting as well, maybe stronglifts. If anyone has any suggestions I am open to them. I can't spend hours working out as I have 3 kids and a full time job. I don't want to stop T25 also. My half marathon is April and then I will do less running.

Go for it! I am currently doing T25 in conjunction with Body Revolution (weights and cardio, but mostly weights) and it's been going great. I started it when I began Beta as well and haven't felt like it was too much. Both programs are 1/2 an hour, so I do one in the morning and one at night. It doesn't take up too much of my time and I still have the energy to put my all into both. I've noticed much more of a difference since I started and am very happy that I went for it. I also started wearing weight gloves when I do T25 and that's made a big difference in my arms. I also use them for Turbo Fire and most of my cardio that involves punching, so I feel like I've really gotten my money's worth finding another program to use them with. I love T25, but I missed my weight too much to give them up for another 2 months! So I'd say give it a try and see how you feel after a week. Nail it!

I did T25 alpha and beta from November-January, I went by the calendar exactly. It really helped me gain core strength and I actually ended up putting on a few pounds, but definitely muscle. I am also training for my first half marathon in April. I tried running a little bit while doing T25 but I found doing both really made me sore. I especially had to be careful with the jumping and squats in the beginning as it would weaken my knees for running later. So basically, I stopped running during that time. I am in week 5 of my 12 week half marathon training though and the running has resumed and I do feel stronger because of T25. Anyway, in my opinion I wouldn't pair the two. But if you just want to focus on T25 I would add some upper body training. I wish I had done that. Or if you are mainly focusing on the half marathon, you can do one or two videos on your cross train days...that's what I do, but I know which moves I need to take it easier on and my legs and core are already conditioned to them too.

I did strength training along with T25, though I did try to schedule the strength workouts on the days I didn't do the T25 speed workouts. BTW, Gamma phase is mostly strength workouts.

You will see an increase in strength training once you hit beta. I was concerned with the lie upper body amount in alpha too. It is totally doable to run and do T25. I actually follow a lady on Facebook who did a running/T25 hybrid while training for her marathon. I love her page as a runner.

Hi. I just finished with Beta week 1 last week. I lift weights 4 days a week and I go running atleast twice a week, but more if I can swing it. I don't think it's too much. For me personally, I don't feel like I'm getting enough with T25, so that's why I add the extra. Plus, at this point, I am trying to build definition. I have lost 22 pounds since I started T25 and these workouts. I feel good and have more energy. Listen to your body. You got this. :-)

Thanks for your replies I have decided to add in some strength training as well. I love T25 and feel the core work in beta is great. I am on nights at the moment so will do T25 before bed and stronglifts when I wake up. If I am really tired though I will listen to my body and take a rest day then back to the plan Wednesday.
