Middle age and 20 pounds to lose

Hi Everyone:
I'm having a really hard time losing 20 pounds even though I'm sticking to a low carb diet. I haven't had a piece of bread, cake or any sweet in five weeks.
I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but I feel like I'm fighting a lower metabolic rate and being smaller as well. However, I weigh as much now as when I was pregnant. None of my clothes fit and I refuse to become a chunky middle aged woman. It's not my self image.
I work out four times a week getting my heart rate up. staying under 1200 calories a day and drinking water.
What gives?

Unless you have an unusual physiological problem (couldn't hurt to check with your doctor), you are probably eating more than you think. Are you weighing and measuring everything you eat? Don't give up. Exercise is important for health, but calorie reduction is the key to weight loss.
At 106 pounds, I'm still at a very high post-holiday weight. I'd like to lose 6 to 10 pounds, more if possible, but that might not be realistic. Aging has definitely reduced my caloric needs and changed my body composition. To make matters worse, this winter I've been completely sedentary and have constantly overeaten out of stress and boredom. I'm not quite ready to commit yet, but may look you up when I do. I plan to go on a very strict diet for a couple of weeks. Then I may move to a form of Intermittent Fasting.0 -
5 weeks and 8 lbs lost. Your plan seems to be working for you. Keep it up and the next 12 lbs will come off.0
