Middle age and having hard time

Hi Everyone:

I'm having a really hard time losing 20 pounds even though I'm sticking to a low carb diet. I haven't had a piece of bread, cake or any sweet in five weeks.

I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but I feel like I'm fighting a lower metabolic rate and being smaller as well. However, I weigh as much now as when I was pregnant. None of my clothes fit and I refuse to become a chunky middle aged woman. It's not my self image.

I work out four times a week getting my heart rate up. staying under 1200 calories a day and drinking water.

What gives?

Welcome to MFP! Just for a comparison, it took me six months to lose my last 20 pounds. Patience and diligence are key to getting to goal. A question, are you willing to be low carb the rest of your life? Can you sustain this low carb diet forever? It is better in the long term to take it slow, learn new healthier habits that you can continue forever. There is no "end" to the MFP method of weightloss and fitness.
