Cookies?

I have a problem, and that problem is that I'm addicted to cookies. With my coffee in the morning, with my tea at night... they're the one habit I can't seem to kick. So with that- does anyone have a recommendation for a recipe that makes relatively low calorie cookies (~40 a cookie or so)? Dippable cookies are best, but anything would be awesome.

Have you tried the two ingredient cookies on the recipe forum? can't think of the exact measurements and directions but if you use the search tool, you will find it plus variations as well - it is basically banana and oats - I also add chopped walnuts and cinnamon. They taste like a very moist banana bread.

These pumpkin cookies are 64 calories per cookie with my substitutions: http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/32364/old-fashioned-soft-pumpkin-cookies/detail.aspx I made this recipe with the substitutions of cutting back the sugar to 1 1/4 cup and using light butter (50 cal per T) and no glaze. It made 40 cookies. Next time I think i would cut the sugar back to 1 cup and if I didn't have light butter on hand I would try 4 T regular butter and 1/4 c. extra pumpkin. These are good dippers. They are soft, yet soak up coffee, tea, milk, etc. with great results!

I tried these cinnamon cookies: http://www.food.com/recipe/cinnamon-cookies-48241. With my substituions, it came to 44 calories per cookie and made 44 cookies. These are small, but are pretty good for a light not super sweet treat. I cut the sugar back to 3/4 cup, used 4 T regular butter and 4 T light butter (50 cal per T). I used 5 t. sugar (brown and white combined) mixed with extra cinnamon for rolling the dough balls. In the reviews, someone made these cookies with all light butter, they just puffed up more, which would be ok too.

I haven't tried these yet but they are supposed to be copycat version of Grace's Best sunflower seed cookies: http://bakedbree.com/sunflower-seed-cookies. The Grace's Best sunflower seed cookies are amazing! They are a crisp mini cookie with a buttery crunch and just the perfect sweet/salty combination. The recipe does not give an estimate of how many cookies, so I am not sure what the calorie count would come in with. If I ever get around to making them, I would definitely cut back the sugar to at least 1 1/2 cup brown sugar, if not 1 cup. If I had light butter available I would use that in place of some or all the regular butter.

Candian Molasses cookies: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/canadian-molasses-cookies/ If you are a molasses cookie fan, you will really like these. They are a very strong molasses cookie, so if you like a more mellow molasses cookie, I would suggest cutting back the molasses or doing as some reviewers had and using 3/4 c molasses and 1/4 cup honey. This is rare for me, but I did not cut back the sugar in this recipe...I felt like the cookie needed it in order to tame down the molasses since I wanted to use the whole cup of molasses. Instead of 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, I used 1 1/2 cup all purpose and 1 cup whole wheat flour. I added 1 - 1 1/2 t. instant coffe (can't recall the exact amount right now) and instead of the 1 1/2 t. ground ginger, I used: 1/2 t. ground cloves, 3/4 t. ground ginger and 1/2 t. nutmeg and 1 t. cinnamon. The whole wheat flour gives a rougher texture, which I kind of like. I would reccomend chilling the dough for a bit (at least 15-20 minutes), this will make it easier to scoop and may prevent as much spreading. I made these on a airbake cookie sheet with cooking spray (no wax/parchment paper). The baking time may vary, I baked mine for only 5-7 minutes and then let sit for 5 minutes on stovetop. They naturally spread quite a bit and make quite a nice size cookie, that is thin and chewy in the middle with crisp edges. My batch made 30 cookies at 86 calories per cookie. For the size of cookie, I am really impressed, especially since I used a small cookie scoop! So if you want smaller cookies (more cookies with less calories per cookie), I would definitely use the smallest cookie scoop available and maybe not fill it up the whole way.

Hope that helps give you some ideas!
