Best setting for elliptical for weightloss

I'm pear shape and I've always done elliptical at high resistance and found no weight loss or toning that was doing it 4 days a week for 2-3 weeks. Would it better to try low resistance and high reps change that?

    Are you doing strength training too? An elliptical really won't tone you, its great for cardio and burning calories for weight loss. To get toned and swap fat for muscle, strength training is your friend :-)

    I was looking to do both. Weight machines I know will help me I've lost weight using them before. I just want to run less and add ellliptical
