45 pounds in 7 weeks

In january of 2013 I started dieting for the first time in my life and ended up dropping 70 pounds in 5 months. 290-220 I did it by 90% diet and 10% exercise. After 5 months I sort of fell off the wagon and ended up back at 245 towards the last quarter of 2013.

I started half *kitten* dieting and lifting and got down to 230 on New Years day 2014 which is when I restarted my diet. I ended up dieting down to 215 in less than 2 weeks. Then I got a hernia so I started eating big in preparation of surgery and kept eating until yesterday. Today is 2 weeks post surgery and I am starting my diet today. I am sitting around 230 at the moment and am looking to get down to 185 by the end of March.

I have been pretty successful with dieting but I know the closer I get to my goal weight the more difficult it will be to have big loss weeks. When I lost the initial 70 I kept a weekly weight and measurement log which helped a bunch. Once I get back down to 215 I will probably restart the measurements. I can't do much lifting as I am still recovering but I dusted off the cable gym in the basement and will try and keep some semblance of fitness during the process.

I am also going to ramp up the cardio. Going to start with 12 miles of treadmill a week and up it by 3 miles each week. I will update the thread as I make progress.

Feel free to add me for my daily ramblings.

Here is the weight log from my initial loss.

Looks like you never failed to lose weight over any 2 week period - a model of consistency and discipline, very well done!

First day is in the books. Did my initial salt purge and am ready to really start kicking butt. I kind of forgot how ADD I get when it comes to the treadmill. I suppose this is a good thing as it will motivate me to jog more and walk less to get the workout over with. I really had to push myself to put in 3 miles and will use my ADD to my advantage and will get my weekly mileage out of the way earlier in the week instead of putting it off.

Stepped on the scale this morning and was happy with the number although it really does not correlate to how my face looks. I look like I lost some muscle so that may explain it. I am also still holding fluid from my surgery so hopefully the treadmill gets my lymphatic system kicking.

I am setting a short term goal of being 218 by Friday.

Tomorrow is my first official weigh in and I am going to treat it like the beginning of the diet since this week has been more purging bloat. Im guessing ill be close enough to 215 to call this 30 pounds in 6 weeks.

That is an even 5 pounds a week which is a tall order. On average I lost 3.18pounds per week during my initial drop. I am going to have to incorporate cardio if I have any hopes of getting this accomplished and I won't have the luxury of having a bad week either. I feel like I am setting myself up for failure and have already made a fallback plan of 3 pounds a week and extending the timeline till the end.of April which will land me at the same 185.

Will update tomorrow after weigh in

216.0 as of this morning. Now the real fun begins as the bloat is gone so every pound will be earned

Not really tackling this as seriously as I should. I am definitely under eating and not doing enough cardio. I need to get down to 210 by the weekend to be on track and I am not super optimistic of hitting that goal. Tomorrows unofficial weigh in should let me know if I am on track or not. If I am not sub 215 I will have to shake things up.

The end date is not really significant. I have a broader overall plan that involves getting down to 12% BF which I am guessing is around 180-185 then I am going to flip a 180 and bulk as cleanly as possible on 3,700 calories a day whilst lifting for mass.

I am an easy gainer and will be supplementing my diet in hopes of hitting 215 and then start a proper cut back to 200 in the 8-10% BF range by the first day of summer in the northern hemisphere June 21st.

I know... As if losing 45 pounds in 7 weeks wasn't ridiculous enough....

I am currently sitting at 208 which is +3 of where my timeline had me. I am going to have to bite the bullet and do some cardio this week to help chip away at the overage. I have exactly 4 weeks left and I can finally see the fat leaving the stubborn areas of my body. I swear I can see the difference with every pound loss which is very helpful during this process.
