Like the title says. Looking for a high protein, low carb snack that is high in protein. Need something that I can keep in my bag (i.e. Doesn't need to be refrigerated). I already have a protein shake figured in the day so I don't want another one please.

.......and shoot!!

Some form of jerky? 300 calories of beef jerky has about 21g protein. Turkey jerky is similar.

ETA: it is a bit high in sodium, so if you are watching your salt intake, it may not be a good choice.

Soybeans, or edamame as they are commonly called.

Beef Jerky! Yes, it is high in sodium but 240 calories worth (~3oz), you get about 39g of protein. Can't beat it!

The jerky sounds like a good option.

I've been drinking the Atkins chocolate shakes which are high protein, low carb, low calorie. I know they have snack bars too. You can check those out.

Flavored tuna fish and celery. They make some cans that are easy open but they tend to be a bit expensive and they can be smelly but 150 calories for 25 g protein that's portable isn't really all that bad.

I really like Emerald 100 calorie pack cocoa roast almonds, you could do 2 of those. I also really like double chocolate chunk Quest bars (20g protein and 160 cal)

quest bars are great and tasty for under 200 calories (though I find they have an aftertaste from the sweetener they use...not terrible, but it's there). If you're ok going closer to 300, Cliff Builder bars also have 20g of protein, are delicious, and are more chocolate-candy-bar-ish as opposed to protein-bar-ish. (they come in a snack size I found out today! half the size)

I'm also a big fan of siggi's yogurt, 14g of protein in a 110 calorie serving (5.3 ounces). Not as portable, obviously, but wow I always feel so satisfied after having that for a snack...mix in an ounce of sunflower seeds and that brings the snack up closer to 300 calories and 20g of protein total.
