Need Opinions on Out of shape strength training

I don't think I am getting much protein in my diet but let me just tell you the reason I need basic training methods to increase strength from scratch.
SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM TO SKIP THE DETAILS AND ANSWER A STRAIGHT FORWARD QUESTION.
basically I had a really high metabolism so when I was younger I was just tall and really skinny, I looked okay but I lacked strength. After dropping out I got hooked on gaming which has taken over my life extremely. I am anti social, I have troubles with talking to people and I am probably pretty boring. (not to mention my horrible grammar) because of this I never needed to be strong, I never cared about my health or my looks and just gamed all day all night probably 12 hours of sitting and gaming every day (not even joking) So skipping along, I used a lot of weight gainer powders when I was about 16-17 years old and it never worked but since I wanted to gain more weight so I could turn it into muscle. After I started gaming, my eating slowed down because id lose track of time and skip means. Eating junk food became a big problem as well to the point where I could literately finish a 2L of soda in less than half a day and could probably slam a quarter in one go. So I gained a bunch of weight, probably 50 pounds to be exact (surprisingly not more)
but now I lost 21 pounds and I don't look chubby or large but I'm definitely over the BMI for my height and wish to go down to 188 ish BUT I don't want to just lose the weight I wish to turn some into muscle and reduce my body fat % in general (also toning the body)
Here is where my main issue is, I am 21 (should be in my prime) and I cant even pop 10 good form push up's. I have large arms and a slight tone but I definitely notice a large lack of strength. This effects my pull ups, every upper body gym equipment.
I started a program called "100Pushup's" and its suppose to help increase the amount of push up's you can do over 6 weeks period. I know that training your body is what you need to do, so starting small then gradually increasing reps will strengthen me over time. (So I have been told)
So here are my questions:
1. Other than push up's what other basic (no equipment required) workouts are there to increase strength.
2. If I lack protein what is a good alternative protein drink? Here is the site that has a local store near me that's known to hold the most supplement http://www.popeyescanada.com/
3. Would getting a fat burner supplement help with my goals of decreasing fat % but a the same time growing more muscle? Slight toning?
Mainly I just want to lose some weight, get in good shape and be happy with my build. I over think a lot and I think having a better body would increase my confidence in myself and break my silent self, meet some friends.

Strength and muscle building is not about how many reps you can do, it's about using enough weight to keep your reps low (Under 12) and progressively adding weight as you get stronger.
1. Push ups, Incline Push Ups, Pull ups (if you have something to do them on), squats (find something to use as weight if you don't have an Olympic bar).
2. If you're having trouble getting protein and you can't get more through whole food like chicken, beef, milk, cheese, nuts, etc, then you can opt for a whey protein powder. There are a million different brands and flavors, but it honestly doesn't really matter. Stick to one that has a high protein content and a relatively low carb and fat content. Muscle Milk is notorious for having a ton of sugar in it, so I'd steer clear of that.
3. DO NOT get a fat burner supplement. They're dangerous and completely unnecessary. Lose the weight the right way0 -
Thanks AJ_G, I get lost in the whole fitness world sometimes. Some places say one thing and others say different. Its good to hear from others that don't speak for a product or company.0

i know there are programs like You are Your own Gym and Convict Conditioning out there. A pull up bar would be fantastic and if you cant do one work on negatives where you jump up and let your self down slowly.
protein powder can be used to meet your macro if need be, i use a whey isloate from walmart but a lot of friends like Trutein..sometimes i drink it, sometimes i put it in greek yogurt.
and there is no magic solution or pill....you are at the prime age to be your own fat burning machine
just work hard
eat
sleep
rinse
repeat
hell if i can do it at over 40, you can:flowerforyou:0 -

This is the bodyweight progression that I'm using. http://www.startbodyweight.com/2014/01/basic-routine-infographic-poster.html .
On Reddit, there are Beginner's and Rank Beginner's routines in the FAQ -- http://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/ I prefer the first link because photos are always helpful and I'm pretty weak so smaller steps in the progression are helpful.0 -
