Hi, I'm Fred ;)

I just started using my fitness pal last week, and so far I like it a lot - and I'm hoping it'll help with being more accountable to myself and my goals of weight loss.

A bit about myself: I retired from the U.S. Navy 10 years ago (Data Processing Technician / Radioman) went to college and now I'm a federal archaeologist working in NW Oregon. I enjoy hiking (which I do a lot with my job) bicycling, flat-water kayaking, snowboarding and snowshoeing (because exercise should be fun).

I'm always looking for new takes on recipes, and try to eat at that mysterious intersection of, clean, healthy, ethically produced, organic, free range, cheap, easy and most of all: tasty! - which is not easy,

Hi Fred, You might want to check the Recipe forum for ideas or search "clean eating" topics.

I just eat less of what I was already eating.

Good luck on your weight loss

Aloha Fred! Good luck on your journey. I'm sure you'll find plenty to do up in PDX. Lived up there a number of years myself. There are some great places up in Oregon where you can shop and find organic restuarants, grocery stores, farms, farmers markets and more! I look forward to hearing how your journey is going.
