SUNCREEN....

Okay so how bad is it if I don't wear sunscreen when I run or walk outside??? I usually try to go either early in the morning or afternoonish when the sun is not super strong, but still is that bad aka will i get skin cancer later?? I don't usually wear sunscreen because I don't see the point of putting it on when I'm just going to sweat it out a couple minutes later. Plus it just makes me breakout sometimes... Thoughts?! Any dermotalogists out there?

As a fair person I'm very sun conscious, but I think also that we overdo it sometimes, as we NEED vitamin D, which is absorbed from the sun. I would think that in the heat of the day, cover up etc, but at other times let your skin breathe and soak up some sunshine!0

Have you tried moisturizer with SPF in it? If you are only going out for a walk/jog SPF 30 should be good enough Using a moisturizer with SPF instead of a regular sunscreen feels lighter and moisturizes your skin!0

you gather enough vitamin D for a week in about twenty minutes of unprotected exposure.
It is important. UV light is radiation, and it's dangerous to let it accumulate in your skin if you know better. Pick a good sunblock (neutrogena makes great ones that are high-SPF and sweat/grease/proof) and USE IT! Everyday is best, but why skip it when it is so easy to include it?
Skin cancer not only hurts, it can kill you if/when it metastisizes into your body. It's nothing to play with. My dad had a mole the size of a pencil eraser on his knee, and when they removed it, they had to cut out a football-shaped chunk five inches long and three inches wide to get all of the cancer.0 -
Being a fair-skinned person I usually try to put on sunscreen if I'm going to be outside either in the afternoon or for more than 20 minutes. There are good sunscreens out there that are sweat-proof and oil-free (I just found one from Neutrogena that isn't oily and doesn't feel like gross sunscreen, but it is gross if it gets in your hair... it's really a trial and error to find the right brand that works for your needs). I've also found a face lotion that is spf15 so it's not oily and is good for every day use.
My coworker, who is also fair-skinned, is only 30 and was diagnosed with Melanoma last year. After a horribly long and painful experience, she has brought the seriousness of skin cancer to my eyes. I definitely do not want to go through that! She's a marathon runner and has found a couple of different sunscreens that are sweat-proof and long lasting, but I'm not sure on which brands.
I think it's better to be overprotective and put on sunscreen than to end up suffering the consequences later.0
