What kind of rice?

I'm trying to find healthier sides to serve for dinner and I was wondering what rice would be healthiest and how do you prepare it if it is a healthy choice... I'm steaming all kinds of vegetables but that's starting to get old.
Thanks for any help!

In addition to rice, you could look at things like quinoa, polenta, bulgar wheat, etc.

As rice goes, for me it just depends...in general I prefer brown rice as I prefer the nuttier full flavor...but I like white rice with certain dishes...truth be told, I don't eat rice all that much though...I really prefer potatoes or pasta to rices.

As far as "healthier" I guess you mean more nutrient dense...brown rice basically has a bit more fiber than white rice...which is what is always touted...sorry, I get around 40 grams of fiber per day and still eat regular old pasta and white rice; if you're not having issues hitting fiber goals, it's really a non issue.

If you like white rice, eat white rice...if you like brown rice, eat brown rice. Your portions of these foods are far more important than which one you're eating.

The whole white rice refined carb nonsense is just dogma...really all of the above can be incorporated into a balanced and nutritious diet.

I love Japanese sticky rice! It seems to go with anything.
