I'm actually having the last laugh. Losing nearly 100lbs cutting sugar and donuts.

    But keep laughing.
  • Donuts are gross...

We don't tolerate donut shaming around here.

Oh come on! I mean, they're all sugary, melt in your mouth and give you sticky fingers :shivers:

I like to take it and see if I can slide it over my.. without it breaking.

Never works. But at least there is a treat after a solid workout.
  • I used to have meetings that went over lunchtime and we used to have sandwiches brought in. Whenever I had a problem with lunches in the office my friend told me to imagine that people have been touching them - probably inadvertently while choosing their own - and remember that you don't know where their hands have been!

Just ignore them. You will be proud of yourself later. Go get you some coffee or something...no sugar though!

Whaaat?!?! What's wrong with sugar, again?

OP, yesterday, fresh donuts were brought to the office. I ate 1/4 of one and left the rest. I also had sugar (1/2 tsp. per cup) in both cups of coffee. You know what, I was STILL 240 under my calorie budget...AND I managed to exceed my protein goal (it's a good thing!), while doing well on the rest of my macros.

The ONLY reason to not eat a bite of a donut, is if you think you can't stop there. And, honestly, if you're going to take orders from a donut, you need to get to the root cause of it.

Eat a damn bite of it.

Nothing's wrong with sugar, hun. I have sugar as well, everyday. But, in the beginning when I was struggling with issues like whether or not to eat a donut, my willpower sucked donkey balls and having a little bit of sugar triggered me to want more. Like you said about not being able to stop there. I figure if she's posting this, her willpower isn't all that strong yet. Was just my advice, hun. No worries....I totally agree with you, nothing wrong with some sugar as soon as you get your willpower in check. That's all. :drinker:

Hun? How old are you? Stop that.

But yeah, I get what you're saying and I think we agree on that point, for the most part.

I find that doughnuts never live up to my expectations/memory. I eat it and then I think "It really wasn't that great. Why did I eat that?" They're usually just sweet--not a whole lot of flavor.

I would much rather eat those calories in the way of a big plate of stir-fry that actually fills me up and leaves me satisfied.

Same thing happened to me yesterday...I ate a doughnut...it was delicious...it has no bearing whatsoever on my long term goals or my short term goals for that matter...I hit my calorie goals and all is well. I eat a delicious doughnut probably 3-4 times per month...no biggie.

Exactly, Ed was my first thought here.
    Plus my friend Candi.

You do not need to cut anything out to lose weight.
And I enjoy donuts (like from Timmy's or from the boutique shop by work) so I won't be cutting anything out to lose weight.
    Eff that noise.

Honestly resist it. It will get easier. Yesterday bagels were brought in. I had no desire to get one like I use to. Before I would eat two. How I achieved that I slowly eliminate sweet stuff. Also I now enjoy healthy food and have seen the results.

The comments I like here is when someone mentioned that her husband said you already know what it tastes like. Never thought of that in that way. Like that comment.

However if you have to eat one take only half or as small as a piece as you can manage. Don't eat the entire doughnut. Also take a cake doughnut nothing else.

At least your first edit made sense (though improbable). 10,000% more than normal? Normal WHAT? Normal FOOD is a little vague.

A Dunkin' glazed donut has 12g of sugar.

A medium apple is a pretty "normal" unmanufactured food with 13g sugar.....
