Started MMA training...

I started training for Mixed Martial Arts with a main focus on Muay Thai kickboxing 2 weeks ago. My trainer is wanting me to get down to 147 lbs.. I'm not sure what my goal time to do this in is, but that's the goal.

Workouts consist of sparring in the ring, kicking/punching a bag, doing other various exercises for core/back/leg conditioning..

How long should it take me to drop the 23 pounds i need to lose??

    Well it is recommended not to lose more than 2 lbs/week so I would guess 11-15 weeks.
  • I started MMA about 6 months ago. It's a great workout. I was way outta breath when I first started and everyone told me to go running for my cardio. So I started running. I started MyFitnessPal shortly after that. I am now also riding my bike to work and hitting the gym. The MMA started all of this for me. I like the Jiu Jitsu aspect of MMA.
    I'm now down 50 lbs. If you keep at it and your diet is good, the weight is gonna come off in no time.
