Foot support/injury

For the second time in 4 months I rolled my foot. The indecent yesterday led to an injury far worse than the one in October. I am in an air-cast and on crutches until I hear back from the radiologist - who i am waiting on to ready the radio-graphs in detail. The walk-in clinic would not tell me much more than that. While I rolled my ankle the injury is not on my ankle, but rather the side/top of my foot. This really puts a crimp into my workout plans.
But this leads me to this - that top part of my foot often hurts after a run or even while working out on the elliptical. Is there a wrap or sock that has some support that I can wear when I workout? In the past I have had plantar fasciitis and I am not sure if there is just some underlying weakness that I constantly roll and injure this part of my foot. Like I said though.. this is the worse I have ever done it! I took a misstep walking out of my house - down a two whole steps. When I put my left foot down, then started to move off my right foot off the last step my left ankle rolled under and I went down pretty fast, hard and in tremendous pain! Nothing like sitting on my cold Northern Michigan garage floor while I kept myself from feeling like I might throw up or pass out from pain. :( I already have the winter blah's and this is a set back.

Add some arch supports to your shoes and wrap your ankle with athletic tape.

Sounds like it wasn't rehabbed properly after the last injury and proprioceptors not firing and not recognising it was about to turn over.

See a physio for rehab exercise and invest in a wobble board perhaps?

PS Often a support strap just prohibits the proprioceptors recovering and as soon as you discard it then you could re-injure.
