I went to a work seminar and the guest speaker was a gym owner. A lot of what he said made sense to me, so I employed it a few days later. My wife and I bought Fitbit devices along with Polar H7 HR monitors. We have always been active in weight lifting, mountain biking, walking and hiking. The past 2 years have been a little slow. I tore my biceps tendon about 1.5 years ago. My wife went to therapy for a shoulder issue and I developed sciatica last fall. So.......after the work seminar, I decided it was time to get serious about losing some weight and training properly. I also realized that I signed up here a few years ago, but decided it was too cumbersome to find my foods. Now with my fitbit communicating with MFP and developing a large food library, it's been pretty easy. My wife was a little slow in starting, but finds it helpful now also. Long story short, we started a month ago, and I've dropped 8# and 1.5% body fat. My current stats are 47 years old, 5'11", 200# and 24% BF. My goal weight initially is/was 195#. I think I may try a little lower before I start a 'maintenance' diet. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and I'm going to post in the workout section to see what others think of the workout routine I've been doing for the past month.
