Is this normal?

Hey guys, I've been tracking my diet and jogging 5 times a week. I stay at a 1300 calorie intake a day and I do eat back the calories from working out.

I've done this for 10 days and I havn't lost not one pound... It's a bit discouraging. Does it normally take this long before I start seeing any results? I wasn't expecting anything big, 1-2 pounds a week at most, but nothing in 10 days? Is that normal?

My diary is open if you want to take a peek.

The only thing I can see is maybe higher sodium from the deli turkey and the chips.

I would replace your snacks with more fruit and lean protein not from processed foods. And make sure you are drinking enough water. If you don't, you retain it.

Also, are you measuring/weighing your food? Is it close to your period? Have you started lifting weights? All those things can make you retain water.

10 days is nothing, especially if you just started working out. Give it a few more weeks, it will come, assuming you're actually weighing/measuring your food accurately. Especially with such a low intake for your activity level.

It could be your diet. I suggest you eat more protein. You should take this test to see what kind of metabolic type you are and then fix your setting on MFP. I'm a 40 carbs, 30 fat and 30 protien. I lose a 1 to 1.5 pounds a week. Started at 168 and now I'm 149. Still hoping to get to 135. I'm 5'4. http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/weight-loss/metabolic-types-eating. Since adjusting my settings, I'm never hungry. I burn about 550 to 750 calories a day...I eat most of them back give or take 200 calories. My gross is always around 1750 calories. Drink lots of water.
