Trouble staying motivated? Remember to do something special.

So I've been in the final stretch of my weight loss and at times have just felt frustrated about how long it's taken to reach my goal (but I'm getting there!)

Yesterday I went for a walk in the freezing cold after work to kill an hour's time, and was just grumbling about doing this and just feeling a bit down. Sometimes you go through these phases where you just wonder why you bother or you just feel a bit weary of the focus or energy that goes into losing weight at times.

I was due for my regular haircut, which I haven't gotten in months and I was long overdue. After I got the haircut, I stood up and thought "WOW!"

In the past I often would feel like I had a nice haircut but a bit of a frumpy look from the neck down. But yesterday I thought "I look great! My haircut looks even better than before! I'm so glad that I lost this weight!"

After that I was reminded that it really was all worthwhile, and I regained my sense of achievement and enthusiasm.

So if you're having trouble staying motivated and wondering whether it's worth it -- do a little something special for yourself. You don't need to break the bank, but don't forget that little rewards do help. Get a new hairstyle, buy a little item of clothing to show yourself off, whatever it is, do something to make yourself feel like a new person if you haven't done it lately.

Happy Friday and Valentine's Day, everyone! :flowerforyou:
