Still Hungry

So everyday I go over my calories, some days by a lot (like 100) and somedays not by much (like 20), but it's bugging me that I am. And I don't think I am going over because I of unnecessary eating, I am just always hungry anymore. Usually within an hour of eating I am hungry again. I had lunch today at noon, was starving around 3 so I had a serving of pretzle sticks, but by the time I got home at 5:30 I was so hungry I could barely stand it.

I don't understand why I am going over my calories so often. Most of what I eat is veggies and stuff. And most days, even though I go over on calories, I am under on fat, like today I think I still had 33 grams of fat available, but I went over on calories by about 130. I am eating stuff that up until now I thought was so good for you, like a banana and fat free yogurt....each had like 100 calories! I had 200 some calories on a banana and yogurt? And milk, having a cup of milk today was what helped put me over, and I always hear that drinking milk each day helps you lose weight. Granted it's not fat free, it's 1/2%, but come on, half percent? It's not like I am drinking whole milk.

I'm just getting frustrated with eating so healthy but still going over. Sorry for the long rant, my basic question is, what are some low calorie foods that will actually fill me up and keep me full for longer than an hour without adding to my total?

what i've been doin is fruit or veggies with a cup of hot tea or bottle of water.. for me personally i do a large green pepper with a cup of hot green tea.. holds me over til my next meal... I also eat every 2.5 to 3hrs... I eat pretty low cal meals in general though, so I can eat eat if I get hungry and stay within my cals... its been working pretty good...

hope you find stuff that works for you!
  • Protein seems to help tide me over. Also, drinking lots of water and chewing gum.

That happens to me to if I drink milk or have a lot of fruit in one day. Even though they are good for you, they are high in calories. Try to limit yourself to a banana, but then have veges instead of another serving of fruit. I have also started to take a calcium suppliment instead of drinking lots of milk. And I found a yougurt that has only 64 calories per serving, rather than 100+.

I seem to have days where I am constantly hungry as well. Try to munch on some carrots or another veggie that you like. Or on those days, instead of eating a big meal at one time, allow yourself to eat 6 or 7 times that day, but each at about 100 or 150 calories. It keeps your stomach digesting that way and helps to boost weightloss.

PErhaps your body is hingry because it is not geting enough fat. Your body requires protein, carbs AND fat to function properly so I would try increasing your fat intake (maybe add things like peanut butter)

I find that 1200 calories a day is just not enough to keep me from being starving at the end of the day. I make sure I exercise every day (even walking for like an hour or something) and then eat those calories as well. I try to make sure I can eat at least 1400-1500 calories a day.

Also, vegetables are pretty indigestible, the amount of calories it takes to digest them is more than what you're actually getting from them. Maybe you should try having some pasta or cheese or something? Something that "sticks to your ribs" lol. I find that a poached egg (100 cals) on a piece of toast (another 100 cals) keeps me full for quite a while (carbs and protein) whereas if I have a huge salad I'm hungry again in 2 hours.

The other thing is that when I first started on here, I was just totally ravenous for the first 4 or 5 days. I was used to eating so much more than I now eat that my body had to adjust. But I made it through the first few days, and now my body knows better what to expect and isn't so hungry all the time.

going over by 100 cals is NOTHING. You have a 1000 cal deficit right? so 100 of that for one day is so tiny in the scheme of things. Worry if you are going over by 100's or 1000's EVERYDAY
  • Astro has a fat free sugar free yogurt that is really good and only 40 cals. and is actually one of the less expensive ones where I live. can get a 16 pack for less than 6 bucks.
