    There's a whole lot of history that I won't post here, but the modern way we celebrate the holiday originated in the UK.

    They invented the Valentine poem (Chaucer, from London)

    The Valentine love letter (Charles, Duke of Orleans, Burgundian, but he was in London when he wrote it)

    and The Valentine card (Margery Brew, from Norfolk)

    We do celebrate Valentines day here in the UK.
    Not sure what Val-Day is though, is this more American/Internet slang for something...

    We celebrated (in the UK) with a lovely home cooked meal by me and some flowers from him.
