PMS

I have just binged spectacularly on biscuits and a bag of sweets and not logged any of it! ????????
I'm noticing a pattern in the days leading up to my period, not all months but most, I have a literally uncontrollable urge to eat, mainly things that are high in calories! It's driving me crazy!
I try so hard to stay within my calorie limits but those few days a month I feel like I just lose it, I could eat non stop if I let myself, I think. Please, someone tell me they have the same problem - I feel disgusting ????????

It's normal. Your body has a greater energy requirement at that time because it's manufacturing a cocktail of hormones.

Sweet potatoes work well for me because they provide the carbs the body demands along with B vitamins which help the nervous system and a wide range of other vitamins and minerals too. The potatoes also have good fibre content so they help to fill you up.

Yeah, I have that problem too, especially for chocolate and sugary stuff!

You just gotta do the best you can, I know for the chocolate I am better just eating a chocolate bar or something chocolate dense to kill the craving vs eating cake or something where I can eat like 1000 calories before the chocolate bug is gone. Its more just about figuring out the best strategy to get your fix while saving your diet the best you can. Good luck to you!
  • My main problem was that there were sweet things in the house. Normally there's not much so I go buy a chocolate bar and then move on. But today there was a tin of biscuits (my mum bought them for us) and I just set about them like there was no tomorrow. Feel gross now, made myself log them, have about 1000 cals in treats today ???????????? but got to move on I guess. Make up for it tomorrow and next weeks. Ugh, stupid hormones...
