Who's supposed to see that?

Ok so, I totally get that "MFP 101" says don't send out a FR without at least a note of some kind. Better yet, go back and forth with a couple of messages before you launch a FR...

A number of my friends have private profiles, so I couldn't read them before I was on their FR. Among those with a private profile, many have, at the beginning of their profile, words to the effect of: "Please don't send a FR with no message, I will refuse..."

Here's my question. Who's supposed to see that? By the time you get to read that sentiment, you've already been vetted. I don't get it.

    It's either people new to MFP or don't look at their profile and forgot when they changed their security privacy who have this on their profile. The irony is strong once you realize what you have done.

    Ha ha. True dat.

    Every once in a while I lock down my profile so even my friends can't see it.

    But then, I have nothing written on my profile page.
