Mindless Eating

Tonight I was in the mood for mindless eating and found that celery is perfect for this purpose! I just needed to munch on something to keep my mind busy while watching television and surfing the internet without going over my calories.
I had about four medium stalks and happy about it. I was curious about the health benefits and found this:

If you're like me and need to snack on anything...celery is your answer!

Celery is great but I do have to watch how much I eat because of the sodium content.
I did find a solution to it going bad so quickly in the 'frig, too. I picked up a Tupperware vegetable keeper that has two little vents in the end. You can open/close the vents depending upon the type of vegetable (it tells you on the side what to do depending on what vegi). I've been using that and the celery stays fresh for well over 2 weeks! I got mine for $1 at a yard sale! They sell for about $30 I think on the Tupperware site but it's still worth it, given the cost of vegis now.0 -
Celery is one of those foods that actualy use more cals to eat and digest than it gives. Wish I could eat it, for me, I just can't seen to get past the taste.
Guess I will have to try it again and just hold my nose. :bigsmile:0 -

I'm not big on vegs at all but one thing in my favor--I hate cooked ones, so only eat what I do eat raw and have never liked salad dressing, so only eat them plain--maybe a little salt at times.0

for me its carrots. celery, and my allllll time favorite...GRAPES! thats what i always eat when watching tv!0

My husband has an extreme allergy to celery... so much so that I can't keep it in the house because if he even touches it, he breaks out in a rash from the contact.
So, I opt for frozen grapes instead. You have to make sure you eat less, or the fruit sugar adds up, but it satisfies my need for a crunch.0 -
Grapes are amazing! I also like doing the same thing with strawberries, they're very low in calories and delicious!0
