Sodium & its effects on weight loss

I've been making a few of the same meals over and over so I can take them to lunch with me. One of them is very high in sodium due to soy sauce. So eating a low calorie diet (with exercise) that is high in sodium... my guess is that the sodium makes you hold water weight but you can still burn fat due to the low calories/exercise. Is that correct?

Sodium will retain water. I can do great on my eating. Do good workouts. BUT one day of high sodium foods and the scale goes up.0

Never caused me a problem being way over what is considered 'acceptable' salt levels.0

Okay thank you! I'm okay with the scale not going down as long as I'm burning fat. I just wanted to confirm that it was in fact just water weight, which is a lot easier to shed than fat!0

Sodium has no berring on fat loss it will just make your daily weight fluctuations larger. I love sodium so have never tracked it. Intact I am usually over with the food I eat and hat doesn't count the table salt or added salt during cooking. I have had no trouble losing. I do gain quite a bit for the week of TOM but it doesn't bother me.0
