What the Japanese Know About Being Slim

Here's a new take, from an article in Salon, on the reasons why the Japanese are almost universally slender and why American adults (especially those over 40) are almost universally overweight, with a large percentage of them being actually obese. Very interesting because it throws a cultural light on the problem of Western obesity. Is it because we have a much more self-indulgent culture? Is it because of the type of foods that are eaten? You decide. The Salon article is by a Japanese-American writer: http://www.salon.com/2012/01/05/what_americans_dont_understand_about_weight_loss/
