Disclaimer: May be a premature post, but I would like to get opinions, please. Thank you in advance!
Background information:
I started working out and logging food intake continuously about 3 weeks ago. I am trying not to weigh and measure myself but once a month so I don't get discouraged (happened in the past, I can get obsessive and moody. Lol!). My plan includes kickboxing 3x a week, a circuit training DVD ranging from 30min to 60min 3x a week, and jogging/running 3x a week. I try to stay 1200 per day and increase 1300-1500 1x a week to confuse my body.
I have my weight and measurement check-in scheduled for March 1st. I thought I was noticing some changes in my body shape and decided to peek at the tape measure. I measured my thigh and my stomach. Not much to nothing at all changed. Honestly, I was discouraged, but I am not giving in this time. I did not cave and jump on the scale, so I am not sure where that falls yet. I am still working out and tracking my food. Three weeks into my journey, I can say I feel much better, a little more confident, stronger, and have more energy.
My question is this: Has anyone started out on their weight loss journey and found that exercising and eating better did change your appearance, but no change in the measurements or scale? If so, how long before actual numbers showed you the change? Or did you end up skipping tracking your measurements and weight, just basing your loss on how you feel and how clothes fit?

It took me 3 weeks to see the scale move one pound. I did not measure (wish that I would have). I felt discouraged but I physically felt so much better from working out and eating better. My daughter took out a pound of sugar and handed it to me. She said, "It's that much less you're carrying around every day." That was encouraging.
I kept going. I would say after about a month, I started losing a pound a week until I met my goal. I did have a few plateaus here and there but did not let them discourage me.
Keep going. You will get there. The fact that you feel better is your body letting you know that you're on the right track!0
